And I want you to know, I am here to guide you through every step of the process and I am always happy to answer everything in depth. I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and excited before we ever step in front of the camera. Your experience matters to me just as much as your photos.
FAQ
How do you deliver photos?
I deliver all photos through a beautifully designed, password protected online gallery. From there, you can easily view your collection, choose your favourite images, and share the gallery with friends and family. You will also have the option to download your photos in both web size (perfect for sharing online) and full resolution (ideal for printing and preserving).
Do I need to pay deposit?
A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking to secure your chosen date and confirm your session. Once your booking is complete, I am here to guide you through every detail and answer any questions you may have to ensure your experience is seamless and enjoyable.
Can I reschedule my session?
Every session can be rescheduled in the event of illness or unsuitable weather, ensuring your images are captured under the best possible conditions. Unfortunately cancellations due to a change of mind, or changes without reason cannot be accommodated, and the deposit will not be refunded. Your deposit reserves my time and services, and I guide you through every step of the booking process.
When is the best time for the photoshoot?
As a natural light photographer, I carefully work with the surrounding light to create the most beautiful results. I highly recommend shooting in the late afternoon, when the light is soft and golden. Sunset provide the most magical, flattering conditions for timeless images. Please note that the exact timing may vary depending on the season and natural light conditions on the day of your session.
What should I wear for my photoshoot?
When it comes to choosing outfits for your session, the key is to keep it simple, and true to you. Neutral tones or earthy shades always photograph beautifully, while avoiding loud logos or super bright colours helps keep the focus on you. Flowy fabrics and layers can add a lovely sense of movement, and most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. I am always happy to chat through outfit ideas and help you decide what works best. To make it even easier, I have created a simple "What to Wear Guide" that I send out as a PDF to all my clients.
Where are you located and do you travel?
I am based in Christchurch, but I am always happy to travel to your chosen location. The city and its surrounding areas offer so many beautiful spots, and together we can find the perfect setting for your photos. Travel within Christchurch and nearby is included in all packages. If you have a special place a little further away, a small additional travel fee applies for locations beyond the included distance.
Do you provide the RAW pictures?
RAW, straight-out-of-camera photos look unfinished and flat. The editing process is a huge part of my work, it is where I bring out my personal style and create the images my clients book me for. This is why I don’t release RAW files, having someone else edit them or publish them unedited wouldn't reflect my vision, and it is not something I would put my name on. Additionally, no one is allowed to apply filters or alter my photos in any way, as they represent my style and the quality my clients expect. The final, edited images are the true representation of my work.
Do you sell Gift certificates?
Yes, I offer gift certificates that can be fully customised in any value, whether you would like it to cover part of a session or the full price of a photoshoot. They can be used toward any type of session, including family, maternity, newborn or couples shoots, and are valid for six months from the date of purchase. Gift certificate aren't just presents, they are an experience, a way to create memories, and a chance to capture moments that will be cherished forever.
Do you publish the photos on your social media or website?
I highly respect the privacy of my clients, so I only share photos with their approval. That said, I am always incredibly grateful when you tag me on social media or allow me to publish your images. Sharing your photos helps others see my work, it build trust, decide to book a session, and it is a big part of helping me grow my portfolio. As a small business owner, I rely on my client's support and word-of-mouth. I truly love it when past clients leave me a review or share their experience. It means the world and helps me continue doing what I love.
